€100 from euro balance in the simple app, at 17:02 CEST. Total cost = trading fee + markup + the order-book price gap against the market price, which is why it can differ from the platform’s own rate. Rank 1 is where you get the most crypto.
Buy/Sell or spot: where the cost sits
On OKX the same coin can cost you different amounts depending on the screen you use. The difference is not a fee you see on the receipt, but where OKX builds in its margin.
| Buy/Sell and Convert | Spot trading | |
|---|---|---|
| How you buy | You get a quote and confirm it | You place an order on the order book |
| Separate fee | None | 0.20% taker, 0.10% maker |
| Spread | Up to 1.00%, included in the quote | Whatever the order book shows at that moment |
Buy/Sell and Convert is the quick route. OKX says it includes a spread in the quoted price, and that this spread, including the fees of market makers, does not exceed 1.00%. Your order goes to one or more market makers, which may include a company in the OKX group. Because only the maximum is published, our comparison uses the full 1.00% in the simple app mode. Your real cost on Buy/Sell can therefore be lower than we show.
Spot trading uses OKX's order book. Since 25 September 2026, a regular spot account in the EEA pays 0.20% when an order is filled straight away (taker) and 0.10% when it waits in the book (maker). Stablecoin pairs are cheaper, at 0.05% for takers and nothing for makers. In our advanced trading mode we run your order through the live order book and add the 0.20% taker fee, as explained on how we compare.
Put in euros: on a €100 order, Buy/Sell can cost up to €1.00 in spread, while a spot market order costs €0.20 in fees plus the gap between buy and sell prices on the book at that moment.
Euros in and out
| Method | OKX fee |
|---|---|
| SEPA deposit, standard or SEPA Instant | Free |
| SEPA withdrawal | Free |
| Buying with a debit or credit card, in euros | 1.99% |
Your bank may still charge its own transfer fees. A SEPA Instant deposit usually shows up within seconds if your bank supports it; a standard SEPA transfer takes one to two business days. For card purchases, OKX says the fee can vary by country of residence; 1.99% is the rate it lists for euros. In our comparison, the card rate is added on top of the cost of the mode you pick.
OKX Europe and its licence
OKX Europe Limited has been authorised by the MFSA since 27 January 2025. According to ESMA's interim MiCA register, that licence covers all 30 countries of the European Economic Area. The company's previous legal name was OKCoin Europe Ltd, according to the global LEI database (GLEIF). All licensed platforms are listed side by side on our MiCA-licensed exchanges page.
- Fine in Malta: on 1 April 2025, Malta's anti-money-laundering authority (FIAU) imposed a penalty of €1,054,269 on OKCoin Europe Limited for shortcomings in its anti-money-laundering controls up to April 2023. When it was published, the FIAU noted that the penalty could still be appealed.
- Proof of reserves: OKX publishes monthly proof-of-reserves reports. They cover assets held by OKX entities worldwide, not OKX Europe on its own, and the page does not name an external auditor.
- No USDT trading: USDT is not available to trade for users in the EEA. Since 17 July 2026 you can only convert a USDT balance into USDC, in one direction.
Who OKX suits
Buy/Sell is quick, but its cost is capped rather than fixed, so you only know the exact spread when you see the quote. Spot trading is where OKX's fee is lowest, if you are comfortable placing an order on an order book. Free SEPA in both directions keeps the cost of moving euros low. Compare both modes for your coin and amount in the table above, for example for Solana, or see how OKX compares with Bybit EU and Kraken.
Questions about OKX
What fees does OKX charge in Europe?
Buy/Sell and Convert have no separate fee, but the quoted price includes a spread of up to 1.00%. What is the spread on OKX Buy/Sell?
