What is Bybit EU?
Bybit EU is the company and website through which Bybit serves customers in the European Economic Area. The company is Bybit EU GmbH, registered in Vienna. On 28 May 2025 the FMA authorised it as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA for five services: custody of crypto-assets, exchanging crypto-assets for money, exchanging crypto-assets for other crypto-assets, placing of crypto-assets, and transferring crypto-assets for clients.
Everything on this page, including the live prices in our table, comes from Bybit EU and its own order book.
How Bybit EU differs from Bybit
- A separate company and licence. The MiCA authorisation belongs to Bybit EU GmbH. Bybit's global platform is not covered by it, which is why we compare and link to Bybit EU only.
- Where it is available. ESMA's interim MiCA register lists Bybit EU's services for every EEA country except Malta. Malta is also on Bybit EU's own list of countries whose nationals it does not serve.
- What MiCA covers. MiCA applies to crypto-assets that are not financial instruments (Article 2(4) of the regulation). Derivatives such as futures are financial instruments, so they fall outside this licence. Bybit EU itself describes its Earn products as unregulated and not a MiCA service, although the coins stay in its regulated custody.
- Margin trading. Spot margin trading with borrowed funds adds hourly borrowing fees, and a 2% fee if your position is liquidated.
What you pay on Bybit EU
One-Click Buy is the simple way to buy. There is no separate trading fee: the cost is a spread included in the quoted rate, and Bybit EU publishes it.
| When you buy | Spread |
|---|---|
| Monday to Friday, 07:31–20:59 UTC | 1.30% |
| Weekday evenings and nights, and weekends | 1.80% |
In Central European Time, the cheaper window runs from 09:31 to 22:59 in summer and from 08:31 to 21:59 in winter. On €100, that is about €1.30 or €1.80, depending only on the time. Our comparison applies the rate in force when you look, so Bybit EU can move down the ranking in the evening (how we compare).
Spot trading on the order book costs 0.25% per order at the standard VIP 0 level, the same for maker and taker orders. Bybit EU switched to this single rate on 5 October 2026. Lower rates apply once your 30-day volume or your balance passes certain thresholds.
Paying in euros
| Method | Bybit EU fee |
|---|---|
| Euro deposit, such as a SEPA transfer | None from Bybit EU |
| Visa or Mastercard issued in the EU | 1.1% |
| Visa or Mastercard issued outside the EU | 3.05% (Visa), 2.7% (Mastercard) |
| Apple Pay or Google Pay | 1.8% + €0.24 |
Payment providers may add their own fee. Card payments are not available to Austrian nationals, residents or tax residents. In our comparison the card fee comes on top of the spread. Euro withdrawal fees are not listed in Bybit EU's help articles; the withdrawal page shows them. Crypto withdrawals cost a fixed fee per coin and network.
Licence and safety
- Counterparty: in its conflict-of-interest disclosure, Bybit EU explains that it is the counterparty when you buy, using prices from several liquidity providers, including companies in its own group.
- Custody: Bybit EU says it keeps client crypto in segregated wallets, separate from its own assets, and does not outsource custody to another firm.
- The 2025 hack: in February 2025 about $1.5 billion in virtual assets was stolen from Bybit, a theft the FBI attributed to North Korea. This happened before Bybit EU GmbH received its MiCA authorisation in May 2025.
All eight platforms we compare are listed with their regulators on MiCA-licensed exchanges.
Who Bybit EU suits
Bybit EU publishes its One-Click Buy spread, so you know the cost before you buy. That spread is higher than the trading fees at several platforms we compare, especially in the evening and at weekends. Spot trading at 0.25% is the cheaper route if you are comfortable with an order book. The live table above or the comparer shows where Bybit EU stands against platforms such as OKX and Bitvavo for your coin and amount.
Questions about Bybit EU
What is Bybit EU?
Bybit EU is the platform at bybit.eu through which Bybit serves customers in the European Economic Area. It is run by Bybit EU GmbH in Vienna, which the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) authorised under MiCA on 28 May 2025. ESMA's interim register lists it for every EEA country except Malta.
Is Bybit EU the same as Bybit?
No. Bybit EU GmbH is a separate company with its own website and its own MiCA licence. That licence covers Bybit EU, not Bybit's global platform. Our comparison, prices and links use Bybit EU only.
What are Bybit EU's fees?
One-Click Buy has no trading fee but a spread of 1.30% on weekdays from 07:31 to 20:59 UTC and 1.80% at other times. Spot trading costs 0.25% per order at the standard level. Paying with a Visa or Mastercard issued in the EU adds 1.1%, and Bybit EU charges no fee for euro deposits itself.
Why is One-Click Buy cheaper during the week?
Bybit EU publishes two spread levels: 1.30% during business hours on weekdays and 1.80% in the evening, at night and at weekends. It says weekend rates are typically higher because there is less liquidity in the market.
Is Bybit EU available in Malta?
No. ESMA's interim MiCA register lists Bybit EU's services for every EEA country except Malta, and Malta is on Bybit EU's own list of countries whose nationals it does not serve.
How much does Bybit EU charge for card payments?
1.1% for a Visa or Mastercard issued in the EU, 3.05% for a Visa and 2.7% for a Mastercard issued outside the EU, and 1.8% plus €0.24 for Apple Pay or Google Pay. Card payments are not available to Austrian nationals, residents or tax residents.
