Bitpanda fees: a fixed charge on Bitpanda's own price

Bitpanda is a broker from Vienna that serves customers across the EU through Bitpanda GmbH, authorised under MiCA by Austria's Financial Market Authority (FMA). You buy from Bitpanda itself, not from other users, and pay a fixed fee on top of the price Bitpanda quotes: 0.99% for bitcoin and stablecoins and 1.49% for most other coins.

In our comparison of 14 October 2026, 17:02 CEST, Bitpanda was not the cheapest for any of the 21 coins for €100 from your euro balance in the simple app, with 1.50% in total cost on average (rate plus price gap).

€100 from euro balance in the simple app, at 17:02 CEST. Total cost = trading fee + markup + the order-book price gap against the market price, which is why it can differ from the platform’s own rate. Rank 1 is where you get the most crypto.

How Bitpanda charges you

Bitpanda works as a broker. When you tap Buy in the app, Bitpanda gives you a firm quote and the trade is done with Bitpanda, not with another customer. There is no public order book behind the app, so there is no market spread you can see and check. What you see instead is a fixed percentage per trade, set per coin group.

According to Bitpanda's cost overview (version 4.0.0, dated 8 July 2026):

Coin groupFee per buy or sell
Bitcoin0.99%
Stablecoins (EURCV is free)0.99%
Most other crypto-assets1.49%
Coins with a market value below €100 million, and "Spotlight" coins2.49%

On a €100 purchase of a coin in the 1.49% group, the fee comes to about €1.49. Bitcoin sits in the cheaper group; our bitcoin page shows how the platforms compare on it.

The part Bitpanda does not publish is how its quoted price compares with prices on exchanges at the same moment. Our comparison therefore takes Bitpanda's public price, adds the fee above and assumes no extra markup. If the price in the app is less favourable than that, your real cost is higher than the figure in our table. The details are on how we compare.

Bitpanda also runs a separate trading platform with an order book, Bitpanda Fusion. The same cost overview lists Fusion fees from 0.25% at the lowest volume level down to 0.02% for very large volumes. We do not include Fusion yet, which is why Bitpanda appears only in the simple app mode of our comparison.

Paying in and taking money out

Bitpanda states that no extra fees apply to card payments, Apple Pay or SEPA transfers when you deposit euros. That is why paying by card costs the same as paying from your euro balance in our comparison. Your bank or card issuer can still charge its own fees.

Licence and safety

Bitpanda GmbH received its MiCA authorisation from the FMA on 9 April 2025. According to ESMA's interim MiCA register, it may provide its services in all 30 countries of the European Economic Area, so the same licence applies whether you live in Spain, Poland or Ireland. You can see it next to the other platforms on our MiCA-licensed exchanges page.

Who Bitpanda suits

Bitpanda's model is easy to follow: one fee per trade, no difference between card and bank payments, and one app that also covers stocks, ETFs and precious metals. The trade-off is the size of that fee. Exchanges with an order book charge a smaller percentage per trade (0.25% at Bitvavo, for example), but there the spread depends on the market at that moment. Which route is cheaper for your coin and amount changes with the market, so check the live table above or run your own amount in the comparer.

Questions about Bitpanda

What are Bitpanda's fees for buying crypto?

Bitpanda charges a fixed fee on every buy and sell: 0.99% for bitcoin and stablecoins, 1.49% for most other coins and 2.49% for coins with a market value below €100 million and "Spotlight" coins, according to its cost overview of 8 July 2026. The fee comes on top of the price Bitpanda quotes.

Does Bitpanda charge a spread?

Bitpanda does not publish a separate spread. You trade at a firm price that Bitpanda quotes itself, plus the fixed fee. How that price compares with prices on exchanges at the same moment is not published, so our comparison uses Bitpanda's public price plus the fee.

Are deposits on Bitpanda free?

Bitpanda says no extra fees apply to card payments, Apple Pay or SEPA transfers. Your own bank or card issuer may still charge a fee.

Is Bitpanda regulated in the EU?

Yes. Bitpanda GmbH has been authorised under MiCA by the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) since 9 April 2025. ESMA's interim MiCA register lists its services for all 30 countries of the European Economic Area.

Does Bitpanda have an order book?

Not in the regular app, where Bitpanda quotes the price itself. Its separate platform Bitpanda Fusion does use an order book, with fees from 0.25% at the lowest volume level. Fusion is not part of our comparison.

How much does Bitpanda keep from staking rewards?

20% of the rewards. Bitpanda deducts this commission before the rewards are paid out, according to its cost overview.
